A native of Monroe County, Mrs. Bryant was a daughter of the late Joseph Howard and Sue Lee Lane Smith and widow of Warren C. Bryant. She was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class, received her A.B. degree from Bessie Tift College, her M.A. degree from Emory University, with additional study at the University of Georgia and Union Theological Seminary, N.Y., and retired from teaching high school English. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Elberton First Baptist Church with the Rev. C.E. Jackson III officiating. Burial will be in Monroe Hills Cemetery, Forsyth. Survivors include three sons, David Warren Bryant, Seneca, S.C., Stephen Howard Bryant, Athens, and Thomas Edward Bryant, Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Chafin Smith, Forsyth, and Lane Smith, Nashville; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Seaborn Lawrence, Billy Herring, Truett Smith, Carlton Mills, Joe Fernandez, Chester Webb, Charlie Bratton, and James Jackson. Delia Rainey Gentry Athens Delia Rainey Gentry, 73, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. A native of Gordonsville, Va., Mrs. Gentry was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph S. Rainey and widow of James Gentry. She attended Longwood College, Farmville, Va., and Norfolk General Hospital Nursing School, Norfolk, Va., was a member of the Athens Art Association for over 40 years, Noon Club, the University Woman's Club, Ladies of the Moose, Athens Junior Woman's Club, and Emmanuel Episcopal Church, was a founding member of Town and Gown Theatre, and was selected Homemaker of the Year in 1962 by Athens Junior Woman's Club. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bernstein Funeral Home. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Lyn Dudley, Yaupon Beach, N.C., and Susan E. McClung, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Charles E. A native of Rabun County, Mrs. Jameson was a daughter of the late Daniel Monroe and Mary Jane Smith Frady, widow of William Dolphus Jameson, and preceded in death by a son, John Henry Jameson. She was the eldest member and longtime Sunday school teacher of Antioch Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Mize, Kenneth Moon, David Harbin, and Garnet Jameson officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Athens, Mrs. Sewell was a daughter of the late Walter and Doreen Colbert and widow of Deacon Crawford Sewell. She attended Georgia public schools, worked as a domestic for many years, moved to Philadelphia, Pa., was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Philadelphia, president of the Mother Board, Deaconess, Usher Board, Pulpit Aid, Pastors' Aid, Building Fund, Willing Workers' aid, and the Prayer Board, superintendent of the Sunday school, and was instrumental in the first Women's Day Program. She was buried Jan. 23, 1999, at Chelten Hills Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pa. Survivors include three nieces, Tommie Jean Williams, Detroit, Mich., Katy Floyd, Philadelphia, and Dora Billups, Athens; a nephew, James Colbert, Amityville, N.Y.; two grandnieces, Tabitha Bolton and Tess Thomas, both of Athens; three grandnephews, Tommy Bolton, Athens, and Raheem Colbert and Jabbar Colbert, both of Amityville, N.Y.; and a play-sister, Agnes Gibbs, Philadelphia.
