A native of Morgan County, Mr. Arwood was a son of the late Leonard G. and Vinnie Morris Arwood. He was a truck driver. Services were held Sunday, June 6, 1999, at Simmons Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Eugene Pritchett officiating. Burial is in Buckhead City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Violet E. Arwood; four daughters, Faye Ray, Waycross, Deborah Brown, Colbert, Rose Mary Waters, Gastonia, N.C., and Daphanie Montgomery, Covington; three sons, Eugene T. Arwood Jr., Covington, Herbert Arwood, Bethlehem, and Timothy Arwood, Kings Mt., N.C.; four stepdaughters, Sherry Norton, Hartwell, Angela Oldham and Janet White, both of Watkinsville, and Cindy Harris, Jefferson; seven stepsons, David Seawright, Johnny Seawright, Jeff Seawright, and Jody Seawright, all of Watkinsville, Mike Seawright, Jefferson, Marty Seawright and Scottie Seawright, both of Hartwell; three sisters, Mary Shepherd, Athens, Gertrude Pugh and Ruth Smith, both of Madison; two brothers, Jewell Arwood and Herbert Arwood, both of Danielsville; one stepbrother, Ned Hicks, Madison; 22 grandchildren; 25 stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Billy Beal Greensboro Billy Beal, 52, of 325 Mill St., died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A native of Morgan County, Mr. Beal was a son of J.W. and Dollie Beal, Greensboro. He lived in Greensboro for 44 years and attended Greensboro High School. He was an extruder operator for General Cable Company, was a member of Walker United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Beal, and a son, Michael Beal. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. today at McCommons Funeral Home, Greensboro, with the Revs. Wayne Usry and Dave Sterns officiating. Burial will be in the Greenview Cemetery, Greensboro. Carl Richard Brooks Sr. Flowery Branch Carl Richard Brooks Sr., 64, of 4932 Hog Mountain Road, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A native of Greene County, Mr. Brooks was a son of the late Jesse J. and Mattie Lou Tiller Brooks. He was a retired cook with Waffle House, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. today at Greenlawn Cemetery, Union Point, with the Rev. Michael Marsingill officiating. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brooks, Baton Rouge, La.; four daughters, Sherry Rozier, Yule, Fla., Sherry Smith, Baton Rouge, La., Becky Farmer and Melissa Brooks, Covington; two sons, Carl R. Brooks Jr., Fla., and Joseph Brooks, Boone, Iowa; a sister, Johnnie Shockley, Flowery Branch; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was a graduate of Blackwell Memorial High School, Elberton, and a member of Westside Presbyterian Church. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Westside Presbyterian Church, Elberton, with the Rev. Willie Moon officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Heights Cemetery. William M. Cluck Danielsville William M. Cluck, 55, of 2730 Georgia Highway 29 N., died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A native of Dallas County, Tex., Mr. Cluck was a son of the late John Thomas and Ova Lee Clem Cluck. He was a computer designer for W and W Machine, Winder, and was of the Holiness faith. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Friendship Baptist Church, Danielsville, with the Revs. Roy Sorrow and Artis Anglin officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Sorrow Cluck; a daughter, Niki Hughes, Irvin, Tex.; a son, Marty Cluck, Dallas, Tex.; three stepsons, Steve Allen Looney, Ila, Brian Keith Looney and Michael Paul Steses, both of Colbert; two brothers, Richard Cluck, Fort Worth, Tex., and Larry Don Cluck, Tex.; and eight grandchildren. Boyce Perkins Hancock Maysville Boyce Perkins Hancock, 99, of 35 Homer St., died Sunday, June 6, 1999. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Hancock was a daughter of the late Logan and Nancy Perthenia Mangum Perkins, and was the widow of Huram Richard Hancock. She was a housewife and a member of Maysville United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Wednesday Study Club and the Gainesville Music Club. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Ann Hancock. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Maysville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Edwin Smith, William Floyd, and Dugar Strickland officiating. Burial will be at Holly Spring United Methodist Church. Moncrief Lavonia Deuel Lamar "D.L." Moncrief, 82, of 503 Ross Way, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Moncrief was a son of the late Rev. C.H. Moncrief and Roberta Phillips Moncrief. He was a retired supervisor at Lavonia Manufacturing Co., was a member of the Lavonia Church of God, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian M. Evans. Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the Lavonia Church of God with the Rev. Willard R. Fitzpatrick officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens North, Lavonia. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Floyd Moncrief; two daughters, Bernice Akin, Martin, and Kathryn Certain, Lavonia; four sons, Rev. A native of Rockdale County, Mr. Parks was a son of the late Joseph and Clara Selman Parks. He was retired from Western Union and most recently worked at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and the Winder Lions Club. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. today at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Kenneth Deaton officiating. Frank Parrish Bogart Francis Glenn "Frank" Parrish, 89, of 1340 Hodges Mill Road, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. A native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, Mr. Parrish was a son of the late Hudson and Bell Kennon Parrish, and was the widower of Helen Maxey Parrish. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of both the Watkinsville Methodist Church and Rays Church. He was founder and first president of the Oconee County Lions Club. He was a member of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, the Watkinsville Methodist Men's Club, and the Bulldog Club, as well as being a civic leader in Oconee County for many years. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Union Christian Church Cemetery, Watkinsville, with the Revs. Albert Askew and Bob Willis officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael Montesani, Bogart; a niece, Mrs. Walter Abbey, Atlanta; and two nephews, Alan Parrish, Athens, and Bruce Parrish, Young Harris.
