A native of Walton County, Mrs. Ballew was a daughter of the late Fletcher Lovern and Beulah Irene Weatherford Howington and was the widow of John Early "Byrd" Ballew. She was a homemaker. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Revs. Ronnie Moon and James Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Arnoldsville Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Wayne F. Ballew, Carlton; and a sister, Inez Butler, High Shoals. The families are at their respective residences. Benny Lee Geiger Jefferson Benny Lee Geiger, 66, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999. Mr. Geiger was a son of Alma Geiger of Winder and the late Fred Leroy Geiger. He was the retired owner of Geiger Upholstery and was a member of Galilee Christian Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Tom Plank officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Janey Hulsey Geiger; a daughter, Janey Denice Davis, Jefferson; a sister, Betty Cash, Winder; and two grandchildren. "Jack" Hall, 73, of 98 Old Elbert Road died Tuesday, April 6, 1999. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Hall was a son of the late William Carl and Myrtie Cromer Hall. He was employed by Royston Corporation, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of Royston Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Royston Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Barton officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mill Shoal Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Haley Hall; a daughter, Rhonda McNair, Marietta; two sons, Keith Hall, Flowery ston; five sisters, Nell Hall, Willie May Hall, Dorothy Lewis and Carolyn Berryman, all of Royston, and Eulane Craft, Pendelton, S.C.; a brother, William Kenneth "Ted" Hall, Hartwell; and four grandchildren. A native of Hillsborough County, N.H., Mr. Lamper was a son of the late Beatrice Lazoie and Chesley Lamper. He was a retied painting contractor and was a member of the American Hunting, NRA and Buckmasters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Howington Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Manus officiating. A native of Hart County, Mrs. O'Kelley was a daughter of the late Augustus Carey and Wilibel Parker Skelton and was the widow of Rutherford L. O'Kelley. She was former co-owner of Skelton Insurance Co. and was retired from Hartwell Housing Authority as director. She was state life member of Nancy Hart Garden Club and was a member of Hartwell Fist Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class and Martha Bowers Baptist Women on Mission. Services were Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. Burial was in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carey and Donald Hammett Sr., New Orleans; grandchildren and their families, Katharine and John Yopp, Katie, Carey and Mary Ann er Trammell, Houston, Texas, and Donald and Sherrie Hammett and Victoria Hammett, Dallas, Texas. Joe Hudson Venable Sr. Jefferson Joe Hudson Venable Sr., 75, of 4402 Brockton Road died Wednesday, April 7, 1999. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Venable was a son of the late Stype and Leah Kinsey Vanable and was the widower of Edna S. Venable. He was a retired purchasing agent, was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Hulon Hill officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pickens, S.C.
