A native of Jackson County, Mr. Bridges was a son of the late Smith and Katherine Fleeman Bridges. He was owner of Katherine's Kitchen and was a member of Mount Paren Church of God North. He attended Emmanuel College and was a former member of the Chamber of Commerce. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Nicholson Congregational Church with the Revs. Dennis Kesler and J.D. Sosebee officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park. Survivors include a daughter, Candace Hefner, Falls Church, Va.; a son, Blake Bridges, Spartanburg, S.C.; three sisters, Laverne Bridges, Rutherford, N.C., Carol Richardson, Piedmont, S.C., and Geanene Pass, Jefferson; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A native of Greene County, Mrs. Ford was a daughter of the late Delia Drake. She was a member of Brown Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Brown Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Walton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a brother, the Rev. Hinson died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of Annie L. Harris Alewine of Lavonia and the late John Willie Alewine and was the widow of James Curtis Hinson. She was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Minister's Sunday school class. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hamby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Owensby officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Kathy H. Brooks, Toccoa; a son, Curtis J. Leon Dorsey Patton Winterville Leon Dorsey Patton, 81, of 20 Hammond Court, died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999. A native of Oglethorpe County and a longtime resident of Athens, Mr. Patton was a son of the late John P. and Sallie Bailey Patton. He was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church and was retired from Reliance Electric Co. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Leyte and Okinawa campaigns. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oconee Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Purdy officiating. Survivors include his wife, Doris Bridges Patton; a son, Charles Leon Patton, Winterville; nieces and nephews. A native of Fulton County, Mrs. Wheless was a daughter of Polly Morgan Fouts of Monroe and the late Luster Paul Fouts. She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Terry Wheless and Bruce Wayne Wheless. She was retired after 30 years of service from Retail Clerks Union/Big Apple and Food Giant Stores. She was a member of Crawford Baptist Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Gerald Mitton officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Garden, Decatur. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Walter J.
