A native of Wilcox County, Mr. Brown was a son of Inez Carroll Brown and the late Clayborn Brown. He was retired from Sibley Mills and was a member of Goldmine Church of God. Mary Ida Coile died Friday, July 2, 1999. A native of Winterville, Mrs. Coile was a daughter of the late William Rutherford and Laura Pittard Coile and was the widow of J. Colton Weeks. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Weeks. She attended the University of Georgia and worked for the Bank of Ringgold. She and her husband owned and operated the Weeks Insurance Agency. She helped form and operate the Coile-Harris Agency and retired in 1985. She was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Anderson Cemetery, Ringgold, with the Rev. William L. Curtis Crowe Cornelia Curtis Crowe, 81, died Monday, July 5, 1999. A native of Banks County, Mr. Crowe was a son of the late John Grover and Mallie Garrison Crowe and was the widower of Clara Lewallen Crowe. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Moss. He was retired after 30 years as a building contractor and after 34 years of service as Volunteer Captain of the Cornelia Fire Department. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Rev. A native of Habersham County, Bubba was a son of Steve and Charlene Hunt Erwin of Cornelia. He was a rising freshman at Habersham Central High School and played recreation football. He was a peer mediator and was an honor roll student at South Habersham Middle School. He was a member of Friendly Mission Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Friendly Mission Baptist Church with the Revs. Danny O'Kelly, Mike Wilson and Paul Morris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Page M. Hunter Athens Martha Page Morton Hunter, a native of Jones County, died Sunday, July 4. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents, James Everett and Clyde B. Morton, and her first husband, Fred Riesbol. She was the widow of Thomas Mitchell Hunter, a 1909 Clemson graduate and a distinguished engineer and inventor. Together the Hunters shared a suite at the Clemson House and had a great love for Clemson University. Evidence of this love includes The Hunter Endowed Chair of Bioengineering, The Hunter Honors Lecture Series, and The Page Morton Hunter Engineering Fellowship. Mrs. Hunter was a graduate of Gray High School; Mercer University with an A.B. Degree; and Emory University with an A.B. Degree in Library Science. She received The President's Award of Clemson University in 1992. Mrs. Hunter taught school at Pelham and Moultrie and had library duties with the Fulton County Library System. During World War II she had library positions with the 3rd Army, the 3rd Air Force, and ended her library career with the military as Chief Librarian for the Tactical Air Force. She had library duties with the Business and Professional Women's Organization in Washington, D.C., and served as Library Specialist with the Athens Regional Library. While she and her first husband, Fred Riesbol, were living in New York, she did volunteer work with the United Nations Headquarter, where she would meet arriving U.N.-delegation staff members from around the world and help them settle into their new surroundings. More recently, she did volunteer work for Emmanuel Episcopal Church and for St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga. Mrs. Hunter's last contribution to education was to endow the Page Morton Hunter Chair in the English Department at Mercer University and to serve on the Mercer University Board of Trustees. She was a member of Clemson University Honorary Alumnus and a lifetime member of the Mercer University Presidents Club. She was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Athens, Ga. Services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Athens at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Eddie Ard and Rev. Mandy Brady officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. at High View Cemetery, Gray, Ga. Survivors include a brother: Malcolm O. Dogwood Road died Friday, July 2, 1999. A native of Greene County, Mr. Jones was a son of the late Edgar and Mrs. Sallie Jones. Four brothers preceded him in death, Hubert, Clifford, Edgar D. and James Jones. "Honey Pie," as he was affectionately known, accepted Christ in his life and joined the St. Paul Baptist Church under the pastor-age of the Rev. William Smith. He served until his death. Honey Pie was a faithful servant of God and loved by all. He was a generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He retired from the Greene County Board of Education after many years of dedicated service. God called Honey Pie from his labor here on Earth to his reward in heaven on Friday, July 2, 1999, bringing to a successful conclusion a life of dedication, loyalty and love to his family, church, community and friends.
