A native of Blackpool, England, Mr. Adams was a longtime resident of Albany. He was a son of Jane and R. Vance Powers of Sylvester and N.F. Adams of Cocoa, Fla. He was employed by Housing Outlet and was a past member of Carmike Theaters and General Cinemas. He was a member of Albany Evening Lions Club, the Moose Lodge and Friendship Force. He was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hall & Hall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Chancellor officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include three sons, Steven Adams, Matthew Adams and Patrick Adams, all of Athens; three sisters, Cherie Janinda, Leesburg, Cindy Loo, Atlanta, and Theresa Adams, Cocoa, Fla.; and six brothers, Randy Adams, Albany, Dale Adams, Sohren, Germany, Clifton Powers, David Powers and Dwight Powers, all of Sylvester, and Jeffery Adams, Cocoa, Fla. Crowe Hartwell Danny Gene Crowe, 49, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Crowe was a son of Edna and Jack Miller Pruitt of Lavonia and the late Paul Crowe Jr. He was an automobile mechanic and was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church. Private services will be held, with the Rev. Steven D. Hamby officiating. Survivors, in addition to his mother and stepfather, include a daughter, Lisa Morgan, Canon; a sister, Polly C. Mitchell, Lavonia; a half-bother, Mike Pruitt, Atlanta; and two grandchildren. Hamby Funeral Home, Lavonia, has charge of the arrangements. Nathan Essigman Baldwin Nathan Essigman, 90, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A native of New York City, Mr. Essigman was a son of the late Joseph and Eva Wassenman Essigman and was the widower of Cristine Rascon Essigman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was active in the following campaigns: Omaha Beach, Normandy; Northern France and Rhineland. He was a reconnaissance scout in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served two tours in the Korean War. He retired as a technical sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. During his 20 years of service, he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and numerous other service medals. He was a member of the VFW. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Whitfield Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Freeman officiating. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., with full military honors conducted by the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth Perez and Dora Gomez, both of El Paso, Texas, Licha Silva and Hermelinda Minjarez, both of Mexico; two sons, John Essigman, Baldwin, and Trini Jacobl, Mexico; a sister, Dianne Specter, Newbern, N.C.; a brother, Harold Essigman, Baltimore, Md.; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Holden Fleming Hartwell Holden Fleming, 90, of 73 Paynes Creek Road died Sunday, June 6, 1999. A native of Hart County, Mr. Fleming was a son of the late Peter Louis "Luke" and John Eller Carnes Fleming. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ted Kelley and Sam Gray officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Bailey Fleming, a son, Bill Bowman, Hartwell; and a twin brother, Hollis Fleming. The families are at their respective residences. Marable St. died Saturday, June 5, 1999. A lifelong resident of the Athens area, Mr. Gaddis was a son of the late Howard McLean and Mattie Edwards Ford Gaddis. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Elmer Butler officiating. Burial will be in Bethabera Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Pam Williams, Hull; two sisters, Ruth Pedden, Dublin, and Imogene Atkinson, Monroe; a brother, Wayne Gaddis, Monroe; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Vera Edwards Ginn Ila Vera Edwards Ginn, 93, of 143 Main Street, passed away Monday, June 7, 1999. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Ginn was the widow of Allen Erastus Ginn. She was a homemaker and member of the Ila Baptist Church. Services will be at the Ila Baptist Church, Wednesday, June 9th, 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Fite and Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Burial will be in the Ila Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Mary G. Bettis, Alpharetta, Rosa Mae E. Oliver, Ashburn, Ruth and Robbie Edwards, Lithonia; two brothers, Weyman Edwards, Chamblee, and Hoyt Edwards, Lithonia. Mrs. Ginn was the daughter of the late John and Hattie Hix Edwards. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Eva E. Grant, Atlanta, Carris and Arthur Edwards, Commerce. Hazel Kennebrew Stephens Hazel Lucille Kennebrew, 82, of 1378 Union Point ,died Sunday, June 6, 1999. A native of Calhoun County, Miss., Mrs. Kennebrew was a daughter of the late Levi and Nina Heidelburg Gibson. She had lived in Oglethorpe County for the past 33 years and was a director at Action Inc. for many years. She was a member of New Covenant Worship Center and the Order of the Eastern Star. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Covenant Worship Center, with the Rev. Howard Conine officiating. Burial will be in Bairdstown Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Moore was a son of the late Tom and Mary Beth McGinnis Moore. He was preceded in death by four sons, Harold Moore, Gary Moore, Donnie Moore and Bob Moore. He was self-employed and was retired from Jackson Electric Member Corporation. He was a member of Antioch Methodist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Crooked Church Baptist Church, with the Revs. Allen Seagraves and Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Methodist Church. "Homer" Moore, John Henry "James" Moore, and Ronnie Moore, all of Athens, Doug Moore, Nicholson, and David Moore, Danielsville; a sister, Julia Adams, Athens; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Frank Parrish Bogart Francis Glenn "Frank" Parrish, 89, of 1340 Hodges Mill Road, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. A lifelong resident of Oconee County, Mr. Parrish was a son of the late Hudson and Bell Kennon Parrish, and was the widower of Helen Maxey Parrish. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and was a member of both the Watkinsville Methodist Church and Rays Church. He was founder and first president of the Oconee County Lions Club. He was a member of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, the Watkinsville Methodist Men's Club, and the Bulldog Club, as well as being a civic leader in Oconee County for many years. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Union Christian Church Cemetery, Watkinsville, with the Revs. Albert Askew and Bob Willis officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael Montesani, Bogart; a niece, Mrs. Walter Abbey, Atlanta; and two nephews, Alan Parrish, Athens, and Bruce Parrish, Young Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Oconee County Lions Club. The family will be at the residence.
