Barnett Watkinsville Guy C. Barnett, 65, of 1620 Wellbrook Road, died Friday, May 7, 1999. A native of Hart County, Mr. Barnett was a son of the late William C. Barnett and the late Mozell Weaver Barnett Vickery. He was a resident of Hart County for most of his life. He was a truck driver with Overhead Door and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a devoted NASCAR, Braves and Bulldogs fan. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bernstein Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Northcutt. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Peggy S. Barnett; two sons and daughters-in-law, William R. "Billy" and Stacey Barnett, Watkinsville, and Guy Bradford "Brad" and Susan Barnett, Athens; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Michael Montague, Baton Rouge, La., and Stacey and John Koerts, Auburn; and five grandchildren. Mr. Curry was a son of the late Jim and Sula Curry. He was a member of Flat Rock C.M.E. Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Flat Rock C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. Eddie Thornton officiating. She was a registered dietitian who managed dietary departments at Agnes Scott College, Egleston Children's Hospital, Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital and Elberton General Hospital. She was a homemaker and was a member of Habersham Chapter 42, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and was a past commander of the Auxiliary. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 106th Division, and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.
