A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Brawner was a daughter of the late Clarence Perry and Ida Bryant Whitfield and was the widow of Clarence Eugene Brawner. She was retired from Carwood Manufacturing Co. of Lavonia and was a member of Carnesville Church of God. Services will be at 11 a.m. at Ginn Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Magness and Thomas Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Sayer, Carnesville; a son, Herschel Brawner, Toccoa; a sister, Lucille Murphy, Carnesville; a brother, Thomas Whitfield, Elberton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Cantrell Demorest Novice Lee Abernathy Cantrell, 82, died Monday, June 7, 1999. A native of White County, Mrs. Cantrell was a daughter of the late Jessie and Tattie Abernathy and was the widow of Orvile Cantrell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elese Oliver, and a son, Samuel J. Cantrell. She was a homemaker and was a member of Community Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, White County. He also was a school bus driver for Oconee County. He was a member of Union Christian Church and was a Mason.
