Hicks Bishop Dr. Grady B. Hicks, 76, of 2530 Union Church Road died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999. A native of Madison County, Mr. Hicks was a son of the late Louann Fortson and L.G. Hicks Sr. He was a founding member of The Whitehall Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was in education for over 39 years, beginning his career in Jackson County. He served as principal in Barrow, Clarke and Habersham counties. He retired as a school social worker in Barrow County. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, where he was Woodman of the Year in 1996. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with Bishop G.H. Hammond and the Rev. Woodrow Salley officiating. Burial will be in Whitehall Church of the Lord Jesus Christ cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Era Hammond Hicks; a daughter, Gloria Hicks Parker, Watkinsville; three sons, Barry Hammond Hicks Sr., Watkinsville, Christopher J.
