Barnes; a daughter, Mable Shellnut, Athens; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A native of Anderson County, S.C., Mr. McLane was a son of the late Austin and Effie Anderson McLane. He was a retired self-employed painter, a member of Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge 690, of the Baptist faith, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific. She had made her home in this area all of her life and was an Avon representative for a number of years and an active member of Antioch Christian Church.
