Born Sept. 1, 1904, in Newton County, Newton, Miss., Mrs. Addy was a daughter of the late Charles Garfield and Elizabeth Thompson Maynard and was the widow of Ernest L. Addy. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth M. Lucy and Ruby M. Foreman. "Nellie," as she was known to family and friends, was a talented artist, a great lover of God's beautiful earth and beloved mother of an only daughter, Mrs. Jacquelyn E. Benner, with whom she spent her last years in Hull. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She was the oldest member of Newton Presbyterian Church, Newton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Webb Funeral Home, Newton, Miss. with the Rev. Charles Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Newton Masonic Cemetery. Survivors, in addition to her daughter, include her grandson and his wife, Michael and Louise Benner; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Benner, Sean Benner, Arron Benner and Rachel Benner, all of Hull. A native of Commerce, Mrs. Ayers was a daughter of the late William and Cora Duckett Crocker and was the widow of Lester Porter and Sterling Ayers. She was a textile worker for Harmony Grove Mills. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Commerce Church of God with the Revs. John Webber and Lonnie Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill, Commerce. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mary Eden, North Carolina, and Barbara Ann Ayers, Atlanta; a son, L. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Boswell was a daughter of the late Richmond Jordan and Lonie Brock Boswell and was the widow of Clinton Boswell. She was a homemaker and was a member of Maysville Baptist Church. Hancock Ave. died Thursday, May 13, 1999. Mr. Brittain was a son of the late Lucius and Sallie Brittain. He was a member of VFW Post 3910 and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
