A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Case was a daughter of Hobert Fitzgerald Sr. and the late Charlotte Sherling Fitzgerald. She was a police officer, having been the first female to be hired with Iowa Park, Texas Police Department. There are no services scheduled. Survivors, in addition to her father, include her husband, James Case; two daughters, Charlotte Childs, Auburn, and Sa'rah Gerene Case, Athens; a son, James Hannah II, Athens; two sisters, Wanda Hanson, Burk Burnett, Texas, and Mary Bolin, Witchita Falls, Texas; four brothers, Curtis Fitzgerald, Ricky Fitzgerald and Gary Fitzgerald, all of Witchita, and Hobert Fitzgerald Jr., Miami, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. A native of Maryland, Mr. Graff was a son of John Graff of Rockville, Md. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He was a U.S. Army photo specialist in the photographic corps, having served in Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1962. He had a business career in the graphic arts and printing industries that spanned 40 years. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and was a supporter of the Athens Recreation and Parks Department Softball and local high school athletics. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bernstein Funeral Home. A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Brannon was a daughter of the late Ruth Cash Allen and Walter Lawrence Allen. She was a homemaker. Services were Wednesday in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, with the Rev. Harold Crawford officiating. Survivors include her husband, Allen Brannon; a sister, Patsy Garman, Monroe; and a brother, Glenn Allen, Jefferson. Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, had charge of services. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Lowe was a daughter of the late Thomas Freeman and Margaret Louvicie Crocker Lowe. She was a homemaker and was a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Hugh Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors include a sister, Rubye Alewine, Hartwell. LEADSTORIES Story last updated at 9:42 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 1999 Elmer A. Quist Watkinsville Elmer A. Quist, Watkinsville, GA, was called to rest with his heavenly father on Wednesday, October 13, 1999 after a long, courageous fight against a rare autoimmune disease. He was of Swedish decent, born in Chicago, Illinois in 1925 and lived there until his marriage to Alberta E. Quist of Watkinsville in 1987. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion for 45 years. Elmer was an active member of the Lions Club, both in Chicago and Watkinsville. Mr. Quist was one of the founding members of National Coil Coating Association and received their Hall of Fame Award recently. For the past few years Elmer was actively involved in Consolidated Engineering Company in Kennesaw, GA. He is well known around the world for his expertise and achievements in this field. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline. He is survived by his wife, Alberta Quist; six children: Ms. Karen Comfort, Highland Park, IL; Mrs. Kristie Birren, Elkgrove Village, IL; Mr. John Quist, Naples, FL; Mrs. Mary Lapin, Beverly Hills, CA; Ms. Patricia Reese, Wilmette, IL and Mrs. Laura DeFoort, Elkgrove Village, IL; three step-children: Don Barnett, Dallas, TX; Jan English, Austin, TX and Dan Barnett, Fort Lauderdale, FL; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, October 15 at the Evergreen Memorial Park graveside, Athens, GA.
