A native of Colquitt County, Mr. Jenkins was a son of Virginia Owens Harrison and the late James W. Jenkins. He was in the construction business and was of the Baptist faith. Services were Monday at Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with Brother Charles House officiating. Burial was in Woodbine Cemetery. She was preceded in death by a son, David Boyce Williamson. She was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith. Story last updated at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 1999 William Russell Daniel, Jr. Athens William Russell Daniel, Jr., 81, of Athens, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999. Billy was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Clarke County. He was a son of the late William Russell and Ethel Graham Daniel. He lived most of his life in Athens with a brief interval residing on Lake Lanier. He was a graduate of Athens High School and the University of Georgia School of Business Administration with a degree in accounting. After serving in the Navy for a short time, he returned to Athens where he was president of Russell Daniel, Inc. and a partner in Russell Daniel Irrigation Co. Mr. Daniel was a founder and commodore of the Athens Boat Club, a charter member of Athens Country Club, charter member of the UGA Touchdown Club, a Rotarian, a member of Demolay, Mason and Shriners, a member of the Clarke County Round Table of Farmers, a Deacon and an Elder in Central Presbyterian Church. During his residency on Lake Lanier, he remained active in his real estate and neighborhood development, Lakeshore Forest. He was preceded in death by a brother, Graham Foster Daniel. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. from Central Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Bob Bohler, Central Presbyterian Church, John Appleton, First Baptist Church, Emeritus, and Matt McGowan, First Presbyterian Church, Gainesville, will officiate. Survivors include his wife, Grace Harrison Daniel; three daughters, Melissa Daniel Vasenden of Athens, Eugenia Daniel Bennett of Madison, Denise Daniel Scarborough of Toccoa; a son, William Russell Daniel, III, of Athens; a brother, Eugene Border ''Bud'' Daniel of Port St. Lucie, FL; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
