Dorothy Johnston "Dot" Armstrong, formerly of Athens, Melbourne, Fla., Kosciusko, Miss. and Tennessee, died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999. A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Armstrong was a daughter of the late James Lycrutis and Ida Bell Ingram Johnston and was the widow of Chester Loudon "Red" Armstrong. She was a retired school teacher in both Tennessee and Georgia. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Kosciusko, Miss. Funeral services will be in Melbourne, Fla. Survivors include two daughters, Margie Armstrong Stork, Kosciusko, Miss., and Ruth Loudon Armstrong, Prairie Village, Kan.; five grandchildren; and a niece. Florida Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Rockledge, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements. Linda Colville Athens Linda Parham Colville, 53, of 130 Lakeland Place died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999. A native of Lincolnton, N.C., Mrs. Colville was a daughter of Horace and Wilena Drum Parham of Lincolnton. She was retired as a case manager from Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center Community Care Program. She was a 1968 graduate of Tift College and received her MSW from the University of Georgia in 1973. She had served with both state and private agencies as a social worker and was a member of Oconee Heights Baptist Church. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Revs. Tom Lang and Crist Camden officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Garden Cemetery, Mount Holly, N.C. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, David Alan Colville; a daughter, Sarah Lindsay Colville, Winter Park, Fla.; and a son, Brian Alan Colville, Athens. Epperson Sweetwater, Tenn. Howard L. Epperson, 78, of 140 Glenwood Drive died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999. Mr. Epperson was a son of the late Charles and Etta B. Epperson and was the widower of Lucile Anthony Epperson. He was a member of North Sweetwater Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Sweetwater Chapter 381 of the Eastern Star and Sweetwater Rebekah Lodge 25. He was a member of Sweetwater Odd Fellows Lodge 280 and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was retired from the University of Georgia after 30 years of service. Services were Saturday at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, with the Rev. R.L. Davis officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. today in West View Cemetery. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas Elzora Hitchcock Shaw. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Durward Shaw; Howell Shaw, Charles Shaw; sisters, Verbie McLeroy and Sue Allen. She was a member of Hull Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School at Hull Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for over seventy five years. Mrs. Fleeman was a graduate of Madison County High School and attended The State Normal School in Athens, where she received her teaching degree. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 15, 1999, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville. Revs. Randy Crowe and Bill Wood will officiate. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 50, Miami, Fla. and was an honorary member of Bogart Lodge 507. He was retired as a dispatcher from the D.O.T. and was a member of St. James Methodist Church. A native of Hackney London, England, Mr. McCabe was a son of the late James and Helen Mangham McCabe. He served as a Merchant Seaman in World War II and was of the Catholic faith. Born in Clarke County on Dec. 5, 1925, Mrs. Wages was a daughter of the late Esco and Emma Bell Hill and was the widow of Dupree Wages. She was retired from Barrow Mfg. Company and was an active worker of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the Rev. Doyle Sims and Myron Leckie officiating.
