He was a retired dental technician. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lewis Artez officiating. Survivors include his wife, Jo K. Berta; a daughter, Susanne Rodgers, Homer; a son, Frank Wade Berta, El Paso, Texas; a sister, Mary Tuttle, Grand Rapids, Mich.; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Collier was a daughter of the late Chesley B. and Beatrice Vickery Watson and widow of Wade H. Collier. She was a homemaker, member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday school class, and a former Sunday school teacher. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary, with the Rev. Jack Sosby officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Grier, Marietta; a son, Ray H. A native of Harris County, Ms. Curtis was a daughter of the late Annie Weston and Thomas Everett Biggs. She was employed with White Co. in Columbus for 25 years, resided in Athens for the last 15 years, and was a member of Bogart United Methodist Church. He served 15 years in the U.S. armed forces as a member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, serving in World War II and Korea.
