A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Clero and Myrtie Edna McWhorter Whiten, was an administrative secretary to several directors of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, and secretary to the director of the Navy Uniform Board. She served as administrative secretary to Gen. George C. Marshall during World War II and during his administration of the Marshall Plan, and received numerous commendations during her government service. After retiring to Daytona Beach, Fla., in 1973, she returned in 1994 to Carnesville, where she was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home, with the Revs. Rebecca Holmes, Jack Lamb, Dennis Kesler and Roger McCoy officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday at the Zebulon Methodist Cemetery in Zebulon, Ga. Survivors include her husband, William Earle Brazier of the home; a son, David Brazier of Cumming; a brother, Dan Whiten of Carnesville; a sister, Edith Whiten of Carnesville; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the home on Tuesday. Charlie Edward Kennedy Maysville Charlie Edward Kennedy, 57, of 1222 Grove Level Road, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. A native of Cordele, Mr. Kennedy was a son of Mary Sego Speight of Maysville and the late Charlie L. Kennedy. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a member of Local 926 Operating Engineers and Local 302 in Seattle, Wash. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ivie Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ron Glaze and James Richter officiating. Burial will be in Banks County Memorial Gardens, Homer. Survivors, in addition to his mother include a son, Chuck Kennedy of Dallas; two daughters, Stephanie Kennedy and Vickie Logan, both of Dallas; two brothers, L.J. Kennedy of Crescent City, Fla. and Ronald Oshs of Maysville; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Monroe and Evelyn Tomlin of Jonesboro; and a grandchild. The family will receive visitors at Ivie Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Walter R. `Buck' Potter Dewey Rose Walter R. "Buck" Potter, 72, of 314 Woodland Way, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. A native of Dubuque, Iowa, he was the son of the late Jay and Hazel Wilkerson Potter. A World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, he was a retired supervisor of Martin Fireproofing of Elberton. He was a member of the Philamathia Masonic Lodge #25 and the Granite City Shrine Club. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the Happy Agers. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Smith and the Rev. Norman Lindsey will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Survivors include his wife, Joy Brown Potter of the home, and a sister, Joan Potter of Miami, Fla. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. in Strickland Funeral Home. The family is in the home. Brian Teasley Hartwell Brian Andrew Teasley, 17, of 1124 Ridge Road, Hartwell, died Saturday, Aug. 14. A native of Anderson County, S.C., he was the son of Clayte Andrew and Sheila House Teasley. He was employed by Fleming Landscaping. He was a former member of the Hart County High School baseball team and the Hart County High School golf team, where he participated in the state tournament. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The Revs. James Bannister and Ted Kelley will officiate. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Robin T. Bannister of Donalds, S.C.; paternal grandparents, Verlyn and Clara Teasley of Harwell; maternal grandparents, Dan and Evora Powell of Harwell and John House of Danielsville; and maternal great-grandfather, Ludie Haley of Bowman. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home. Kevin Vaughn Canon Kevin Michael Vaughn, 26, of Old Royston Road, Canon, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999. A native of Hart County, he was the son of Joan Banks Vaughn of Canon and the late Timothy Bennett Vaughn. He was a sheetrock finisher, and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pruitte Funeral Home Chapel in Royston, with Rev. Paul Creason officiating. Burial will follow in Bowers Memorial Gardens in Canon. Survivors in addition to his mother include a son, Justin Michael Vaughn of Canon; two daughters, Ashley Nicole Vaughn of Canon and Madison Vaughn of Royston; a bother, Timothy Brooks Vaughn of Conyers; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Banks of Canon and Mrs. Faye Chastain of Canon. The body is at the Pruitte Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today . The family is at the home of Mrs. Faye Chastain, 63 Bryson St., Canon. Janelle Williams Toccoa Janelle Martin Williams, 70, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999. The daughter of the late B. Howard and Essie Stribling Martin, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Williams. A native of Wilkes County, she was a 12-year resident of Toccoa and before that a longtime resident of Chamblee. She was a member of Winters Chapel in Doraville and was retired as a retouch artist from Eastman Kodak. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lavonia, with the Rev. R. Edward Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia W. Brown of Toccoa, Theresa Gudger of Atlanta and Tami Williams of Norcross; two sons, Jerry Williams of Suwanee and James Michael Williams of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Mabel B.
