A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Bell was a daughter of the late William J. and Emma Lester Bell. She was a homemaker and was a member of Clouds Creek Baptist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Clouds Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Palmer, John Parker and William Anglin officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Reba Glenn, Hull, and Mary McElhannon, Crawford; three brothers, Fred C. Bell, Tucker, Guy W. Bell and S. Ralph Bell, both of Comer; nieces and nephews. Evie Lou Burel Winder Evie Lou Burel, 94, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. Mrs. Burel was a daughter of the late William H. and Minnie Turner Robert. She was retired from Carwood Manufacturing and was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home with the Revs. Doyle Sims and Paul Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Glenn Boyd, Winder; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ernest R. Green Toccoa Ernest R. Green, 65, of Spring Street, died Saturday, June 12, 1999. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Green was a son of the late Rev. Louie and Willie Mae Griffen Green. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Trinity C.M.E. Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Robert Green officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Toccoa City Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Mia S. Green, Atlanta; a son, Tapanga Harbin, Toccoa; two sisters, Elizabeth Gibson and Hazel Jones, both of Toccoa; two brothers, Jimmie Green and Charles Green, both of Toccoa; and two grandchildren. Spring St., Toccoa, and will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. today at Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home. `Fireball' Roberts Toccoa George Washington "Fireball" Roberts, 78, of 152 Meeks St. died Monday, June 14, 1999. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Roberts was a son of the late Henry and Mary Jane Brady Roberts. He was retired from Tugalo Gas Co., was a U.S. Army-Airforce veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Post 4356. He was a member of Union Ground Christian Church and attended Zebulon Baptist Church, where he was a member of Benjamin Sunday school class. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Zebulon Baptist Church with the Revs. Ty Childers and Robert Magness officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Reba Murray Roberts; two sons, Clarence Roberts and Linden Roberts, both of Toccoa; a brother, Grady Roberts, Seneca, S.C.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Whiten Honea Path, S.C. Mallie Fay Johnson Whiten, 85, of 5 Devore Lane, formerly of Toccoa, died Monday, June 14, 1999. A native of Anderson, S.C., Mrs. Whited was a daughter of the late Samuel Homer and Eliza Jordan Johnson and was the widow of Ralph Whiten. She was a longtime resident of Toccoa and Stephens County and owned and operated Whiten's Grocery in Toccoa for a number of years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Honea Path, the Joy Sunday school class, and was a former member of First Baptist Church of Toccoa. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, with the Revs. Robert Beaver and Michael Moody officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Marion Davis, Honea Path; nieces and nephews.
