Currahee St. died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999. A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mr. Smith was a son of the late Marcus and Emma Taylor Smith and was the widower of Mozelle Lawrence Smith. He was retired from Patterson Pump Co. after 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having received the Purple Heart. He was a member of VFW Post 4346 and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Scott officiating. Burial will be in Toccoa City Cemetery with military honors accorded by Toccoa VFW Post 4346. Survivors include a daughter, Audrey Smith, Toccoa; three sons, Allen Smith and Stanley Smith, both of Toccoa, and Larry Smith, Canon; a sister, Ida Mae Shirley, Toccoa; a brother, Edmund Smith, Toccoa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
