A native of Bradford County, Pa., Mr. Coddington was a son of the late Donald Joseph Coddington Sr. and Dorothy Coddington. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Coddington. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. He was a diesel mechanic at Oconee Sand & Gravel, Capital Ford, Peachstate Ford and Cummings South E-Z Towing & Repair. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Greenview Cemetery, Greensboro, with the Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Survivors include his wife, Joan A. Coddington; a daughter, Connie Witherow, White Plains; a son, Joe Coddington, Hampton; and six grandsons. McCommons Funeral Home, Greensboro, is in charge of the arrangements. Mae R.T. Dillashaw Alto Mae R. Thompson Dillashaw, 79, of Wilbanks Road died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Dillashaw was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Pearlie Gabrels Thompson and was the widow of Floyd Cleveland Dillashaw. She was preceded in death by a son, David York. She was a homemaker and was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at B.C. Grant Baptist Church with the Revs. Clyde Garrison, John Cooley and Luther Williams officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Rev. Ryan Smith officiating. Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Chitwood, Joyce Armour and Martha Smith, all of Alto; three sons, Dwight Dillashaw, Alto, Bobby York, Clarkesville, and Charles York, Jacksonville; two sisters, Ida Jenkins, Cornelia, and Maude Broome, Baldwin; a brother, Vance Thompson, Marion, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mark Ellis Harvey Commerce Mark Ellis Harvey, 40, of 1631 Groaning Rock Road died Monday, June 14, 1999. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Harvey was a son of Geraldine Ellis and Richard C. Harvey of Grand Junction, Colo. He was a truck driver for Tristate Motor Transit and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A native of Stephens County and a longtime resident of Atlanta, Mrs. Kilgore was a daughter of the late Thomas K. and Beulah Wheeler Howard and was the widow of Tom Kilgore. She was retired from Thompson-Boland Lee Co., Atlanta and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. The family is at the residence of Era Ellerd, 670 Hilltop Lane, Toccoa. Joseph Rudolph Legato Sr. Athens Joseph Rudolph Legato Sr., 75, of 1080 Timothy Road died Monday, June 14, 1999. A native of Pawling, N.Y., Mr. Legato was a son of the late Maurice and Marie Legato of Staten Island, N.Y. and the beloved husband of Joan Legato for 53 years. He was a veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a prominent pharmacist in Athens for many years, opening the Liggett-Rexall Store in Beechwood Shopping Center in 1961. A long-standing member of St. James United Methodist Church, he served several times as president of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He and his wife, Joan, coordinated the Senior Citizens Program for several years. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James United Methodist Church with the Revs. Kent Reynolds and Bill Ruff officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter and son-in-law, Rene and Dr. W. A native of Lucama, N.C., Mr. Moore was a son of the late Calvin and Minnie Lamm Moore. He was a 1936 graduate of Lucama High School and attended Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genna Lee Bracey Moore and his wife, Walton Hinson Courson Moore. From 1937-1938 he played baseball with minor league farm system of the N.Y. Giants in Missouri and Arkansas. He served in the Pacific Theatre with the Navy Supply Corps, 3rd and 5th fleets, during World War II, participating in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. From 1946-1976 he worked for J. Swanton Ivy Inc., where he was executive vice president, and was the owner of G&M Motors until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church since 1946 and served as both deacon and elder for the church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Central Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert H. Bohler Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Pass was a daughter of the late Royston and Mollie Edwards Mattox and was the widow of Edmond Pass. She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. S.A. Bishop officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Janie L. Franklin, Augusta; three sons, James M. Long and James E. A native of Nova Scotia, Canada, Mrs. Richardson was a daughter of the late Reuben and Annie Pente and was the widow of Bennett L. Richardson. A former resident of Daytona Beach, Fla., she had lived in the Athens area for six years. She was a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach. No services are scheduled. Snelson Athens Laura Jeannette Smith Snelson, 84, of 196 Holman Ave. died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. A native of Barrow County and a longtime resident of Athens, Mrs. Snelson was a daughter of the late Garrett F. and Emma Ola Reed Smith. She retired as an administrator from Clarke County Government in 1980 after 29 years of service. She was a member of Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she was a member of United Methodist Women's Circle 3. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Marsingill officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon.
