A native of Elbert County, Mr. French was a son of Robert Lee Sr. and Joy Mae Davis French. He was employed by Billy Erwin Construction and was a member of Elberton Church of God. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elberton Church of God with the Revs. Randy Coggins, J.T. Willoughby and Chris Scarborough officiating. Born August 8, 1940 in Stephens County, he was a son of Alma Sheppard Deal and the late Ben Franklin Deal and had lived all his life in Stephens County. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, the Mens Sunday School Class and was chairman of the ushers. Mr. Deal was co-owner and manager of Car Quest of Toccoa. He was a member of Toccoa Lions Club and served in the Georgia National Guard for 30 years. Survivors in addition to his mother of Toccoa include his wife, Linda Ward Deal of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Renea Deal of Toccoa; two grandchildren, Jazmine Deal and Ben Deal of Toccoa.
