A native of Habersham County, Mr. Batson was a son of the late Leonard Cleve and Sallie King Batson and was widower of Frances Smith Batson. He was retired from Brandon Mills, Greenville, S.C., and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Cornelia. Services will be 2 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church, Cornelia, with the Rev. Hoyt Skelton officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include: three half-sisters, Lucille Cleveland, Demorest, Katie Chambers, Calif., and Mary Williams, Gatlinburg, Tenn.; five half-brothers, Walter Batson, Claude Batson, and Douglas Batson, all of Demorest, Roy Batson, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Paul Batson, Cornelia; a sister-in-law, Mary H. Eunice S. Beusse Comer Eunice Sue Beusse, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Beusse was a daughter of the late Walker and Mattie Therlkeld Davis, widow of Horace Odell Beusse, and preceded in death by a son, Walker Lee Beusse. She was a retired seamstress of Monarch Comer Co. and member of Comer Baptist Church. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Comer Cemetery, with the Rev. Stewart Lang officiating. Survivors include two sons, Horace Odell Beusse Jr., Gwinnett, and Gilbert Beusse, Athens; a brother, Elmer Davie, St. Simons; and nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements. J.C. Boyle LaFayette J.C. Boyle, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. A native of Moreland, Ky., Mr. Boyle was a veteran of World War II, a member of Catlett Church of God and the Board of Trustees, and was Sunday School Superintendent at both LaFayette First Church of God and Catlett First Church of God. Services will be 3 p.m Tuesday at LaFayette First Church of God with the Revs. Lila Clay, David Pat Boyle, and Les Fauntleroy officiating. Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery. A native of Headland, Ala., Mrs. Crisp was a daughter of the late Joe and Annie Wood Winget. She was a member of Faith Memorial Assembly of God and retired from Coats and Clark in Toccoa after 38 years of service. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Memorial Assembly of God, Rothell Road, with the Rev. Dwayne Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Dee Griffin Toccoa Dee Griffin, 89, of 410 North Pine St. died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Griffin was a son of the late Will S. and Roxie Stephens Griffin. He was employed by Parker-Newman Drug Store and later retired from Mouchet Furniture Co., and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jewell Gaines, Ted Henderson, and Ray Bohannan officiating. Burial will be in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. Faith Hirtle Toccoa Faith Arnetta McMurry Hirtle, 84, of 116 Louise St. died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Hirtle was a daughter of the late John Blanton and Minnie Mitchell McMurry. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia, taught in Toccoa Elementary School for 25 years, was named Teacher of the Year in 1957, was a member of First Baptist Church of Toccoa, the XYZ Club, and the Georgia Teachers Association, and was a charter member of Toccoa Pilot Club. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Henry Fields officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Mausoleum. Survivors include: a son, William (Billy) Blanton Hirtle, Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Lorene Cheek, Toccoa; two brothers, Ony McMurry and Joe McMurry, both of Toccoa; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Noah Human Royston Noah Human, 83, of 6460 Wildcat Bridge Road died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999. A native of Madison County, Mr. Human was a son of the late Floyd Allen and Nancy Elizabeth Bragg Human and was widower of Dessie Mae Brown Human. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of New Bethel Holiness Church. He was a retired salesman, a U.S. Navy veteran, served with the FBI, and member of Athens Elks Lodge and Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
