A native of Rabun County and a longtime resident of Stephens County, Mr. Cannon was a son of the late Lester and Cordelia Phillips Cannon. He was retired from Toccoa Foundry and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Jewell Gaines and Dennis Petty and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Gertrell Jenkins Cannon; a daughter, Gail Collier, Toccoa; a son, Billy Cannon, Eastanollee; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Norris, Rodney Moore, Thim Crump, Michael Collier, Terry Taylor and Sebastian Robolin. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Donald David Coleman Eastanollee Ronald David Coleman, 60, of 2371 Old Mill Road died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. A native of Puritan, Pa., Mr. Coleman was a son of the late Edward Charles and Rose Niper Coleman. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Coleman. He was a retired coal miner and had resided in Georgia for the past 13 years. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Plummer Coleman; two daughters, Linda England, Auburn, and Melissa Coleman, Eastanollee; two sons, Harry Coleman, Martin, and Charles Coleman, Eastanollee; six sisters, Deborah Kennen, Virginia; Tirzah Brown, Rhonda Akins, Savilla Justice and Patricia Poling, all of Pennsylvania, and Marjorie Couch, Alto; and five grandchildren. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Fred W. Orr Athens Fred W. Orr, 95, of 1660 Jennings Mill Road died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. A native of Forsyth County and a resident of Athens since 1926, Mr. Orr was a son of the late Henry W. and Maude Stowers Orr. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles J. Orr. He was employed at the U.S. post office, where he served as a city carrier, a distribution clerk and the last 25 years in the finance department as a window clerk and as a U.S. civil service examiner for Northeast Georgia. He retired in 1969 after 43 years of service and joined the real estate firm of Metro Realty as a salesman in 1970. The family joined Prince Avenue Baptist Church in 1932, where he was active in the major executive office of the church and was one of the oldest members of the church. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Ricketts and Tom Lang officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Annie Brice Orr; two daughters, Evelyn O. Lever, Aikens, S.C., and Freddie A. Tezak, Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Perry IV Palm Harbor, Fla. William W. Perry IV, 28, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. A native of Savannah, Mr. Perry was a son of Rene Williams of Athens, and William W. Perry III and Jeannie A. Perry of Jacksonville, Fla. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College and was of the Methodist faith. He was owner/operator of Commercial Property Specialist. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today at Moss Feaster Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Clearwater, Fla. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Ashley E. Perry, Athens; three stepbrothers, Jason C. Perry, Savannah, and Zachery D. Perry and Matthew Clark Perry, both of Jacksonville; and his grandparents, Rhodes and Rose Hardeman, Louisville, and Katherine Clark Perry, Savannah. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. William Saylors Luthersville William Roger Saylors, 46, of 31 College St. died Tuesday, June 15, 1999. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Saylors was a son of Clauden Walters Burnette of Hartwell and the late William Ralph Saylors. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fowler Family Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Creason officiating. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include three sisters, Julia Anne Lawrence and Sandra Gail Bryan, both of Hartwell, and Jeannie Marie Hughes, Luthersville. The family is at their respective residences and will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Pruitte Funeral Home, Royston. Dorothy S. Tucker Lavonia Mrs. Dorothy Stewart Tucker, 74, of 976 Hartwell Road, died Wednesday afternoon at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens. Born in Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late C.D. and Elsie Dudley Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Jones, and a brother, Charles Stewart. She was retired from Lavonia Roller Mill, where she served as bookkeeper for 25 years. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Lavonia United Methodist Church and Lavonia Chapter 377, Order of the Eastern Star. Services for Mrs. Tucker will be Friday morning at 11 o'clock from the Chapel of Hamby Funeral Home with the Dr. Sheila Hunt and the Mrs. Katy Krumbach officiating. Interment will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens, North. Survivors include her husband, C.L. Tucker, of the home; two daughters, Sue Humphrey and Kathy Isbell, both of Lavonia; two sisters, Martha Leitch, Toccoa, and Joyce Boggs, Williamston, S.C.; five grandchildren, Stewart Humphrey, New Orleans, La., Leigh Fowler, Franklin Springs, Sharon Lyon, Lavonia, Courtney and Matt Isbell, both of Lavonia. Rebecca "Becky" Wallis Elberton Rebecca Claudine "Becky" Ward Wallis, 48, of 62 Tate St. died Wednesday, June 16, 1999. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Wallis was a daughter of the late Johnny Q. and Grace Preston Ward. She was general manager of Standard Granite Co. and was a member of Elberton Granite Association. She was a member of Elberton First United Methodist Church and Cross-Talk Sunday School Class. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Elberton First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Wallace Wheeles and Jack Bozeman officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy V. Wallis; a daughter, Becca Dine Kennedy, Elberton; a son, "J" Wallis, Elberton; a brother, Johnnie Ward, Dripping Springs, Texas; and three grandchildren.
