"Bea" Anchors died Saturday, May 15, 1999. Mrs. Anchors was a daughter of the late James David and Elon Watson and was the widow of Allen Anchors. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Anchors. She was a longtime resident of Winder. She was a retired businesswoman and a member of First Baptist Church, Winder. Funeral services were Monday at Barham Funeral Home, Meridian. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery, Winder. Survivors include two sisters, Margaret Hannah, Meridian, and Nell Blount, Savannah; nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. A native and longtime resident of Franklin County, Mr. Ayers was a son of the late Henry Jones and Lourilla Andrews Ayers. He was the last member of his immediate family. He was engaged in farming and the poultry industry. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, where he had served as Sunday school superintendent for a number of years, was a member of the administrative board and the pastor-parish relations committee. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Zion United Methodist Church with Warren Wilkinson and the Revs. Ryan Seawright and Kenneth Dietle officiating. Graveside services will be in the church cemetery with the Rev. Marcus Martin officiating. Survivors include his wife, Octie Ayers Ayers; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe DeFoor, Donald Hallford, John Bertrang, Kenneth Ayers, Virgil Ayers and George Pritchett. The family is at the residence. Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Charles Baber Toccoa The Rev. Charles Thomas Baber, 71, of Browns Circle, died Sunday, May 16, 1999. A native of Chicago, Mr. Baber was a son of the late Virgil Ambrose and Sadie McNeil Baber. He lived most of his life in Texas, where he served as a Christian Alliance Missionary in the Rio Grande Valley. He graduated from Nyack College, Nyack, N.Y., and attended Foothills Alliance Church, Walhalla, S.C. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Foothills Alliance Church, 4271 Highway 11 South, Walhalla, with the Rev. Monty Joseph officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. A native and lifelong resident of Athens, Mrs. Barber was a daughter of the late Arthur Carson and Annie Hodgson Cox and was the widow of Wedford Barber. She was an accomplished pianist and was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, where she was very active in the youth department. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Oconee Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Len Willingham officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Hallie Anne Porter, Cedartown; a son, Allan W. Barber, Athens; and grandchildren, Patricia and Lance Norris, Douglas, Lee Porter, Cedartown, Lila and Joey McMillian, Columbia, S.C., and Frieda and Jim Clarke, Athens; and eight grandchildren. A native of Anderson County, Mr. Duncan was a son of the late Cal and Rosa Lee Davis Duncan Childs. He was self-employed and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church and the International Order of Odd Fellows. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pruitte Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Burns officiating. She was a homemaker and was the oldest member f Rock Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday school class. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Leon Miller and Clarence Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Harold F. Marsh Lavonia Willard E. Marsh, 87, of 203 Paradise Point, died Saturday, May 15, 1999. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Marsh was a son of the late Fred Mason and Elizabeth Smith Marsh. He had lived in Smyrna and in Owosso, Mich., before moving to Lavonia. He graduated from Tech High School in 1930 and was retired from United Steel after 40 years of service. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Lavonia. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamby Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens North. Survivors include his wife, Della Mae Marsh; a daughter, Linda G.
