A native of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Ebert S. and Jennie Jewell Harrold. She was a member of Milledge Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member of Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a member of Church Women United and the Womens Auxillary of Athens Regional Medical Center. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. degree in home economics. She taught at Royston Public Schools and at Trinton and was a homemaker. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bridges Funeral Home with Dr. Edward Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Lt. Col. Virlyn Y. Jones; a daughter, Robin Benson, Athens; a son, Richard W. Jones, Athens; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. A native of Mango, Fla., Mr. Hobbs was of the Presbyterian faith. He owned 15 H&H Subway Sandwich Shops in the Athens area and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was past president and board member of Tampa Independent Dairy Association. He was a former executive with International Milling Co. and VP of Dairy Farmers Inc. He was on the Board of Directors of National Milk Producers Federation and Dairy Cooperative Marketing Association. He was a dairy farmer and was owner/operator of Hobbs Dairy, Brandon, Fla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon.
