The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 7-7:30 p.m. today at Moss-Stovall-Neal Funeral Home. Cortez Burrell Cornelia The Rev. Cortez Burrell, 82, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. A native of Habersham County, the Rev. Burrell was a son of the late Cleveland Victor and Fannie Free Burrell and was the widower of Edna Snyder Burrell. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Jones. He was a retired employee of Habersham Hardware and was a retired minister having served as pastor of Oakey Mountain Baptist Church for 38 years. He was a member of Hillside Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School classes for a number of years. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Billy Harris and Richard Estes Burrell officiating. Burial will be in Level Grove Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Cathleen Cheek Burrell; a daughter, Beverly Canup, Mount Airy; a son, Bobby M. Chase St., died Tuesday, March 16, 1999. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Colclough was a daughter of the late Asbury and Rosa Mae Foster. She was employed by St. Mary's Hospital for 25 years and served as treasurer of the 11th district LPN Association. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Salem AME Church, Farmington, with the Revs. Stephen Smith and Gerald Caldwell officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. She was retired from Stromberg-Carlson Telecommunications and was a member of Sanford Baptist Church, Sanford, Fla. She was a member of Sanford Elks Club. Ellene Wiggins Cornelia Ellene Wiggins, 85, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999. A native of Habersham County, Mrs. Wiggins was a daughter of the late William Alexander and Ella Mae Smith Wiggins. She was a 1930 graduate of Cornelia High School and was valedictorian of her class. She was a graduate of Piedmont College, Demorest, and Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, Ky. She taught in Habersham County schools for 42 years, retiring in 1976. She was inducted into the Habersham County Teachers Hall of Fame in 1989 and received the Cornelia Rotary Club's Shining Light Award in 1993. She taught in vacation Bible schools during the summer months in area Baptist churches for many years. She helped in the first vacation Bible school at Cornelia First Baptist Church and taught for more than 50 years in vacation Bible school, and was director of the Children's Sunday School Department. She worked with the Southern Baptist Mission Board during summer months and was a member of Cornelia First Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cornelia First Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Weaver and T. Logan Smith officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Level Grove Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Grace Allen, Habersham; and two nieces.
