Irma Cameron Valdosta Irma Studstill Cameron, 99, died Sunday, April 18, 1999. A native of Lowndes County, Mrs. Cameron was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Adel Dowling Studstill and was the widow of Joseph Wesley Cameron. She was a personal assistant to the late Dr. C.O. Templeton in his chiropractic practice and was a member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Carson McLane Funeral Home, with the Revs. Mike Griffin, Paul Swafford and Ken Webb officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. She was a homemaker, a former schoolteacher, and was a member of the Royston Church of God. William `Billy' Turner Union Point William "Billy" Marshall Turner, 70, of 6041 Union Point Road, died Sunday, April 18, 1999. A native of Greene County, Mr. Turner was a son of the late Luke M. Turner and Nell Kimbrough. He was a livestock farmer since 1954, later raising miniature horses and donkeys. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having served as a courier for Shape Headquarters in Paris, France. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Union Point and the VFW Post. He was a charter member of Greene County Livestock Association and Union Point Rodeo. Children of all ages loved to see him participated in parades and rodeos with his miniature horses. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Alvin Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jeannette B. Turner; a daughter, Lynn T. Dover, Greensboro; and a grandchild, Bill Dover, Greensboro. He was a 1978 graduate of Morrow Senior High School and was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Beirut-Lebanon Invasion and the Grenada Invasion. He was a plumber with Pumphrey Plumbing Co. and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Morrow. He was a member of National Wildlife Turkey Federation, Bass Anglers and Ducks Unlimited. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Samuel Paul and Ethel Harrington Jones and was the widow of John Hoyt Wilson. She attended Brenau University and the University of Georgia after graduating from Piedmont College, where she majored in music and education, specializing in the teaching of reading. She taught for 35 years at various schools, including Hickory Flat Consolidated High School, Rock Springs, Gailey, Lyman Hall and Gillsville Elementary. She was a former church pianist at Lula and Hickory Flat Methodist churches. She was also accompanist and a member of the Jones Sisters Trio, who sang on the WGGA radio station during the "Whosoever Hearest Thou Hour." She was chosen to be in "Who's Who Among American Educators" and participated in numerous local and national educational organizations. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hickory Flat United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bevel Jones, Jamie Prickett and Fred Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
