She was the retired owner and operator of Gaines Hardware and a member of Royston Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the W.M.U. She received a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va., and a master's degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla. She was a retired guidance director and counselor at Sunrise Middle School, Broward County, Fla., where she served for 31 years. She was of the Catholic faith. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Lattimore was a son of the late Jim and Susan Dalton Lattimore. He moved to New York in 1960, before returning to Georgia in June. Born in Bibb County, Mrs. Strickland was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Nettie Gilbert Croom. She was a member of Gordon Street Baptist Church in Atlanta, where she kept the nursery for many years. She was a member of the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Danielsville.
