A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Booth was a daughter of the late D.W. and Nancy Saylors Carter and was the widow of William Eldridge Scarboro and Paul Motes. She was a retired machine operator for Barton Mills, Lavonia, and Newton Mills, Hartwell. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Elbert County. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Concord United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stan Hamilton officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Alta Mesa Memorial Park Cemetery, Palo Alto, Calif. Survivors include her husband, Clyde Booth; a son, Jerry L. Scarboro, Rolling Hills, Calif.; two sisters, Jean Peeples and Lessie Chapell, both of Royston; and a brother, James Carter, Hartwell. A native of La Salle, Ill., Mr. Cielaszyk was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Zielenski Cielaszyk. He was a retired toolmaker with Westlclox-General Times Corp. and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Lakin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Millie Fowler Cielaszyk; two daughters, Carol Carpenter, Hudson, Fla., and Jo Ellen Long, Lawrenceville; a son, Gary Cielaszyk, Athens; and seven grandchildren. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Durham was a son of the late Pattie Elder and Robert Lindsey Durham and was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Durham. He was retired from Lockheed and was a member of Cherokee Masonic Lodge 13. He was a deacon of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Marietta. Born July 11, 1907 in Dorchester, Mass., Mr. Hazen was a son of the late Maynard Doran and Mary Lunan Hazen. He was preceded in death by a son, Maynard Doran Hazen, formerly of Athens, and Rye, N.Y., and by a sister, Mildred Hazen Summerow. He was the retired owner and president of Athens Auto Supply and had been in the wholesale fish business for many years previously. He was an active member of the community, a former member of the Athens City Council, and a former mayoral candidate. He was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapelwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Purcell officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery. Ivie, both of Winder. Mildred Powell Elberton Mildred Lorene Gulley Powell, 79, of 2824 Guy Wilson Road, died Thursday, March 18, 1999. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Powell was a daughter of the late Barney A. and Lessie Warren Gulley. She attended Rabun Gap College, Piedmont College, and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. She taught school in the Elbert County school system for 32 years and was a past president of Elbert County Retired Teachers Association. She was a lifelong member of Rock Branch Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and WMU Director. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Rock Branch Baptist Church with the Rev.
