Chambers Gailey, 81, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Gailey was a daughter of the late Seaborn and Naomi Chambers and was the widow of Fay Gailey. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Welch. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of Line Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Line Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy Rogers and Kenneth McEntire officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Torgesen, Cornelia; three sons, Larry Chambers, Baldwin, Dwight Chambers and Michael Chambers, both of Homer; a sister, Trix Terhune, Atlanta; two brothers, Jack Chambers, Homer, and Hal Chambers, Atlanta; 16 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his late wife, Golden Belle Scarborough Martin. He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and owned and operated Athens Furnace and Heating Sheet Metal Works until his retirement in 1974.
