He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and worked in the shipyards in North Carolina and Brunswick during World War II. He was owner and operator of Adams Gulf Station for 39 years and was a farmer. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Ben Sorrow and Jim Winn officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. He was an employee of Merita Bread Co. and was a member of the VFW. He was a retired officer with Capitol Police and served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army.
