A native of Habersham County, Mr. Black was a son of the late Will E. and Lola Grier Black, was the widower of Bertha Ruth Lacy Black, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Talitha M. Bell. He was a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy, a World War II veteran, and a retired demolition specialist. He was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Cornelia, with the Rev. Clyde Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.
