The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home East. A memorial service will be held noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glaucoma Foundation, 116 John St., Suite 1605, New York, NY, 10038. Born in Detroit, Mich., to F. Donald and Lillian Sheppard Glass on Oct. 14, 1924, she spent her early years in Highland Park with younger sister Lorraine, graduating from Highland Park High School in 1942 and Michigan State University in 1948. She majored in Education and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She served as Vice-Principal of the Mount Vernon Drive Presbyterian Preschool in Atlanta, co-owned the Hook and Needle Shop in Sandy Springs, and combined a love of doll house miniatures and needlepoint when she started Needleworks in Miniature. She created many designs of authentic oriental rugs and she authored a book on needlepoint for miniatures. She retired to Indian Shores, Fla., and later moved to Athens where she could be near her sons, Robert D. Cosgrove (Roswell) and William M. Cosgrove III (Arnoldsville), grandchildren Kathleen (Katie), Cary and Kimberly (Kimi), and daughter-in-law Debbie. She continued to pursue her love of playing bridge and made many friends in the Drayton Square community.
