A native of Hart County, Mrs. Anthony was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Vickery Anthony. She was a seamstress for 17 years for Carwood and Stone Manufacturing and was a farmer. She was associated with the Tallulah Falls Craft Corp. as a quilter and had written a column for the Franklin County Citizen for the Shoal Creek community. She was affiliated with the Georgia Mountain Arts and Craft Association, Hart County Historical Society, AARP and Order of the Eastern Star, being named Worthy Matron in 1963. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Harbin Sanders and Johnny Ashworth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Joe Wang, Oakwood; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Hamby Funeral Home. Luther Roscoe Cagle Cleveland Luther Roscoe Cagle, 79, of Coffee Lane died Wednesday, July 21, 1999. A native of Atlanta, Mr. Cagle was a son of the late Homer and Nannie Lou Brewer Cagle and was the widow of Miriam Fortner Cagle. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Leach. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired after 20 years as a printer with the Atlanta Journal/Constitution. He was a member and past worshipful master of Campbellton Lodge 76 and was a member of Midway United Methodist Church, Douglasville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Revs. Bill Trotter and Lester Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include his wife, Gracie Nelms Cagle; four daughters, Sylvia Harris, Cleveland, Linda Dodd and Willene Gabrels, both of Mount Airy, and Debra Gabrels; a son, Luther Cagle, Carrollton; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A native of Barrow County, Ms. Cook was a daughter of the late George Washington and Lula Sosbee Cook. She was a retired sewing operator with Peach Rug Co. and was a member of Bogart United Methodist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Bernstein Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Askew and Elmer Butler officiating. Burial will be in Bogart Baptist Church cemetery. Diago Jr. Athens Carlos Augusto Diago Jr., 33, of 125 E. Paces Drive died Sunday, July 18, 1999. A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mr. Diago had lived in the Athens area for the past 14 years. He graduated in 1990 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology. He was employed at the University from 1991-1993, and then at Ranick Limited from 1994-1996. He was continuing his education working toward a business degree and was employed by Merial Limited in Athens. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Margaret Freeman officiating. A native of Madison County, Mr. Hammond was a son of the late Franklin Pierce and Leola Willingham Hammond. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired farm owner and operator. Tuggle and Sara Lula Fowler and was the widow of Carl Hutchins. She was a member of Auburn First Baptist Church. A lifelong resident of Morgan County, Mrs. Lord was a daughter of William Claude Moon of Eatonton and the late Lillian Pugh Moon. She was a former police officer with the city of Madison and was an assistant manager of McDonald's in Madison. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Revs. Buford Lockman and Wayne Ghann officiating. Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery. John William Roberts Sr. Athens John William Roberts Sr., 89, of 269 Plaza St., died Sunday, July 18, 1999. A native of Louisville, Ky., Mr. Roberts was a son of the late John and Gustava Procter Roberts. He graduated from Wilberforce University with a degree in chemistry, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He attended Tennessee State, Atlanta University, and the University of North Carolina. He was a retired teacher with the Clarke County School System.
