A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Campbell was a daughter of the late William and Caroline Thrasher Sudberry and was the widow of Sida Dee Campbell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jo Lee. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home with the Revs. Wayne Durden and Sid Newell officiating. Burial will be in Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include four daughters, Maybelle Vickery, Dorothy Corn, Brenda Carey and Shirley Freeman, all of Hartwell; six sons, Junior Campbell, Tommy Campbell, Billy Ray Campbell and Frank Campbell, all of Hartwell, George Campbell, Clarkesville, and James Campbell, Royston; a sister, Jennie Vee Black, Anderson, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family is at the residence of Dorothy Corn, 96 Lanier St. Willie M.S. Cunningham Dahlonega Willie Mae Savage Cunningham, 63, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999. A native of Hall County, Mrs. Cunningham was a daughter of the late Robbie and Janie Burk Savage and was the widow of Leroy Cunningham. She was a homemaker. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home, Baldwin, with the Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Carl Heard Carlton Carl Heard, 79, of 1960 Lexington-Carlton Road died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Heard was a son of the late Britt and Ada Fortson Heard. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Gresham and Ronald Gantt officiating. Thomas H. Riden Madison Thomas H. Riden, 80, of 829 S. Main St. died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. A native of Morgan County, Mr. Riden was a son of the late Claude Franklin Riden and Anna Adair and was the widower of Martha Agnes Brown Riden. He was a retired county school superintendent, having previously served as a coach, teacher and principal in Jefferson, Buford and Morgan counties for over 40 years. He was a member of Madison Baptist Church, taught Sunday school, was a deacon and coordinator of the Keenager group. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Kiwanis Club and Lions Club of Buford. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Madison Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Ross officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Bostwick City Cemetery. Frederick M. Wilkes Santa Cruz, Calif. Frederick M. Wilkes died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Wilkes was a son of the late Hugar Frederick and Frances Elizabeth Wilkes and was the widower of Elizabeth Wilkes. He was a graduate of Athens High School. He attended Georgia Military College and the University of Georgia, where he was active in athletics and a star center and captain on their football teams. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a pilot in the Pacific Theater. He held special duties which included flying for the State Department, United Nations staff, foreign dignitaries and General Eisenhower. He retired in 1977 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Smith & Arnold's Chapel of the Four Seasons, Santa Cruz.
