Mr. Irwin was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Waddy Irwin of Statham. He was retired from Atlanta Gas Light, was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and was a graduate of Winder Barrow High School. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Ken Fuller and Alan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Statham City Cemetery. Hendricks Jr., 81, of 25 Wrightsboro Road died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Hendricks was a son of the late Burwell Hill Hendricks and Harriett Darracott Hendricks and was the widower of Rose Pittman Hendricks. He was a rural mail carrier and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the European Theater. He was a past manager of Rogers Grocery Store in Washington and was the former owner of Hendricks Florist. He was a Rotarian and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Pharr-Ficklen Sunday School Class. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with the Rev. Chip Wilson officiating. Survivors include a son, Robert Hendricks, McRae; and a brother, Garland Hendricks, Kingston, N.C.
