Randolph Amelia Island, Fla. Loretta Verzilli Randolph, 62, formerly of Athens, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999. A native of Midland, Pa., Mrs. Randolph was the widow of Rivington Hammond Randolph. She attended Washington School of Nursing to become an RN and then interned at Washington Hospital, where she studied anesthesia. She was employed by St. Mary's Hospital from 1970 until her retirement in 1989. She was head of the hospital's department of anesthesiology and was a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. She was a member of Amelia Island Club, Women's Golf Association, Plantation Ladies Association and Amelia Plantation Chapel. She supported Amelia Baptist Church. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amelia Baptist Church. Services will be conducted in Athens at a later date. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara P. Russum, Athens, Debra L. She was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Adult 3 Sunday School Class and choir. A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late James O. and Maebell Barnette Hix. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers. He was the last survivor of his immediate family. Mr. Hix was owner and operator of Hix Body & Paint Shop from 1956 until his retirement in 1987. He was a fifty year member of Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge #22, a member of the Hull Civic Club and Hull Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army in World War II.
