A native of Franklin County, Mr. Bentley was a son of the late James T. and Inez Hall Bentley and was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Wilson Bentley. He was a member of Broad River Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday school class. He was a past deacon at New Hope Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter with Georgia Technical College. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Whitlock Mortuary with the Revs. Jack Wilson and Truitt Brawner officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Bowden, Griffin; a son, Steve Bentley, Toccoa; three sisters, Ruth Hayes and Lois Vickery, both of Carnesville, and Ruby Ivester, Newnan; a brother, Paul Bentley, Carnesville; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. The family is at the residence and will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Inez Buffington Lavonia Inez Buffington, 91, died Saturday, March 27, 1999. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Buffington was a daughter of the late Dennis and Vennie Beggs McGee and was the widow of William Morgan "Bill" Buffington. She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas B. Buffington and Sam Harrison Buffington. She was a homemaker and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Providence United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Hubert Ellison and Larry Maugh officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Lucy Shirley, Lavonia; a son, Glynn Buffington, Lavonia; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Frances Davis Elberton Frances Lee Doyle Davis, 72, of 2365 Plantation Road, formerly of Elbert County, died Saturday, March 27, 1999. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Thomas Grover and Ida Lorena Taylor Doyle. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hicks Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hart County. Lewis, 91, of 3481 Point View Drive, died Saturday, March 27, 1999. A native of Fulton County, Mr. Lewis was a son of the late Andrew and Fannie Mae Bennett Lewis and was the widower of Beulah Thomas Lewis, his wife of 56 years. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Doris Lewis and Lou Billitteri. He was a retired minister and was a member of Christian Life Worship Center. He was a graduate of Banks County High School. He began his ministry in North Carolina and established several churches after returning to Jackson County. He served as conference superintendent for the Pentecostal Holiness Church for nine years. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Christian Life Worship Center, 125 Kathywood Drive, with the Revs. John Inghum, Ramond Carr, Doug Beecham and Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Jefferson County, Mr. Russell was a son of the late Abram and Evie Connell Russell. He was retired from the Coca-Cola Co. as advertising manager after 43 years, was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, and was a member of First Christian Church where he served as deacon and trustee emeritus. Services were Sunday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ray Austin officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Una Rumsey Russell; a daughter, Gail Ridenhour, Memphis, Tenn.; a son, David Russell, Warner Robins; two sisters, Mrs. William Miller and Louise Russell, both of Athens; and four grandchildren.
