He attended Presbyterian College where he played football. A longtime resident of South Carolina, he served as Police Chief of Clemson University and Central, SC and retired as deputy sheriff with Pickens County Sheriffs Department. Following his retirement from law enforcement, he retired from Duke Power in Lincolnton, NC. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Central. A native of Amsterdam, N.Y., Mr. Mulvey was a son of the late Thomas J. and Loretta Keane Mulvey. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in English literature from Notre Dame. He was a television pioneer at WRGB, Schenectady, N.Y., where he was known as ''Bronco Bill,'' was Master of Ceremonies of ''Teen-Age Barn'' and was TV director. He taught high school English and was retired as director of Education Communication Center at S.U.N.Y.-Albany. He was the Ohio State Award in 1972 and was a published author of short stories and articles. In retirement, he did TV commercial work in Atlanta and theater work in Anderson, S.C. He had a guest spot in the TV show ''Heat of the Night'' and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a bombardier. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Terry Kane officiating. A native of Jackson, Mr. Walker was a son of the late Brown Monroe and Mary Hicks Walker. He was a member of North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, which he served for 41 years. His student appointment was in Bishop at Salem and High Shoals Methodist churches. He was a 1941 graduate of the University of Georgia with an AB degree and was a graduate of the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Harris, 153 Buena Vista, Winder, Georgia died January 31, 2000. She was the widow of the late E.V. Harris. She was born in Pavo, Thomas County, Georgia on February 20, 1907. She was an honor graduate of Pavo High School and also graduated from Georgia College, Milledgeville. She taught in the Thomas County Schools and the Pelham Elementary Schools until graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia in 1938. She moved to Winder upon graduation to work as the Barrow County Home Demonstration Agent with the University of Georgia Agriculture Extension Service. She served in that position for six years. She then returned to teaching for several years before taking the job as Home Service Adviser with Jackson Electric Membership Corporation, Jefferson, Georgia where she worked with schools, adults and youth in learning the best in home and electric living from 1952 until her retirement in 1972. Through Mrs. Harris's Leader Program, Jackson E.M.C. published a cook book, ''Watt's Cooking,'' of which over 100,000 copies have been sold. Under her direction, ''Winder Heritage Centennial Cooking 1893-1993'' was published as part of Winder's Centennial Celebration in 1993. Retirement did not slow Evelyn Harris down. The ''Meritorious Service Award'' she received from Barrow County Chamber of Commerce in 1989 summarized her activities as follows: ''Evelyn R. Harris is recognized for 50 years of leadership in civic, church, educational and social services.'' She was nominated for this meritorious award by the Fidelis Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church for which she served as teacher until December, 1999. From 1994 to 1996 she wrote a weekly column (''Home Sweet Home'') in the Barrow Eagle on cooking, nutrition and healthy living. She was a member of Winder First Baptist Church, Winder Woman's Club, Sunbury DAR, Barrow County Chamber of Commerce and Barrow County Historical Society. Mrs. Harris received numerous awards during her retirement including ''Senior Citizen of the Year'' in 1981 from the Winder Rotary Club and ''Distinguished Alumna Award'' in 1997 from the UGA College of Family and Consumer Services. Survivors include her son, Ernest V. Harris and his wife Sally, of Athens; two granddaughters Lindsay and Julia Harris; and several nieces and nephews. Apostolik, 54, died Saturday, January 29th at Rosewood Nursing Center in Macon, following a long illness with Huntington's Disease. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2000 Douglas 'Doug' Thomas Greensboro Douglas ''Doug'' Thomas, 43, of 1129 Apalachee Road died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000. A native of Greene County, Mr. Thomas was a son of the late Garnie and Annie K. Thomas. He was a member of Boswell Baptist Church, Greensboro. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church, Union Point, with the Rev. Forrest Lester officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in Randolph Baptist Church cemetery, Union Point. Survivors include three daughters, Keisha Thomas and Lynda Thomas, both of Greensboro, and Kathy Thomas, Monroe; two sons, Quincy Thomas and Mariccus Thomas, both of Greensboro; three sisters, Everee Simmons, Brooklyn, N.Y., Anna Matilda West, Greensboro, and Andrea Sebastion, Fayetteville, N.C.; and a brother, Garrett Thomas Jr., Greensboro. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2000 Dalton Reed Athens Dalton S. Reed, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000. A native of Rensler County, N.Y., Mr. Reed was a son of the late Orin A. and Ethel Smith Reed. He was a retired auto mechanic and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Watkinsville United Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Watkinsville United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Whetstone officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Anita Hammond Reed; a son, David C. Reed, Clarke, Colo.; a brother, Leonard Reed, Mechanicsville, N.Y.; a niece and nephew.
