Mr. Grantham was a son of Benjamin F. Grantham Jr. and Diana Lynn Moseman Grantham, St. Simons Island. He was a former boy scout who attended Glynn Academy in Brunswick and was a 1998 honors graduate and valedictorian at Patterson School, Patterson, N.C. He was a student at the University of Georgia, was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and was a member of St. Simons United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Simons United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. Mr. Fleming was a son of the late Richard and Mamie Bell Fleming. He was a retired bus driver and garage worker for the Elbert County School System. He was a member of Norman Grove C.M.E. Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent, chairman of both the Trustee Board and Steward Board, and member of the singing convention. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Norman Grove C.M.E. Church with the Revs. Eddie Thornton and Florence Gaines officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. (Billy) McCannon a native of Oglethorpe County and a resident of Athens died Thursday, March 30, 2000, he was 71. He was the son of the late Tommy and Ida Mae Payne McCannon. He was preceded in death by two brothers: George and J.W. McCannon and two sisters: Virginia Casper and Betty Joe Jones. Mr. McCannon served in the US Army Reserves for 6 years. He retired from the University of Georgia in 1982. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Lodge No. 22 and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. McCannon is survived by his wife: Opal Jackson McCannon of Athens, GA: a daughter and son in law: Diane and Paul Minish of Danielsville, GA: and two grandchildren Christy Gaddis and her husband Larry of Danielsville and William (Bill) Nicholson and His wife Alicia of Watkinsville, GA: and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held in Bridges Chapel, Sunday, April 2, at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Jack Segars officiating.
