He was a 1989 graduate of Central High School, Providence, R.I. and was employed as an environmental technician in Fall River. She was an administrator at and was a 1988 graduate of the College of Great Falls, Great Falls, Mont., where she received a bachelor of science degree in sociology. She was a member of AA with a sobriety date of Feb. 14, 1973.
