A native of Taliaferro County, Miss Nunn was a daughter of the late George P. and Eva Tucker Nunn. She was a homemaker and 31-year resident of Wilkes County, and was a member of the Phillips Mill W.M.U. and Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Mill Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Jacobs and John M. King officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Mildred N. McAvoy and Dorothy Hardy, both of Washington; a brother, Warren Nunn, Washington; nieces and nephews. A native of Oconee County, S.C., Mr. Hopkins was a son of the late James Martin and Mattie Lay Hopkins, and was the widower of Pauline Fendley Hopkins. He was vice president and general manager of Toccoa Foundry and Machine Company, was self-employed with Cast Products Company and was assistant Cub Scout master for pack 217 and worked with the Royal Ambassadors of the First Baptist Church. He was a World War II navy veteran, a member of the Agoga Bible Class and American Legion Post 104 and attended the First Baptist Church of Toccoa. Services will be at 5 p.m. today at Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Henry Fields, the Rev. Dr. Jimmie Harley and Mr. Lewis Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Hopkins and Dennis Hopkins, both of Toccoa; five sisters, Mamie Edwards, Hickory, N.C., Myra Stroud, Oak Ridge, Tenn., Ruth Morris, Fair Forest, S.C., Betty Alexander, Seneca, S.C., and Geraldine Hughes, Cowpens, S.C.; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Deacons and Agoga Bible Class members will serve as honorary pallbearers and are asked to assemble at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 11:49 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2000 Patricia Green Gibson Athens Patricia Green Gibson of 212 Wells Drive died Sunday, July 2, 2000. Mrs. Gibson was the wife of George M. Gibson who survives her. Mrs. Gibson was the only daughter of William B. Green and Lula Williams Green. She was reared in Atlanta where she attended the Parochial School of the Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church. She was graduated from Georgetown Visitation College of Washington, D.C., and Agnes Scott College of Decatur, Ga. Mrs. Gibson had resided in Athens since 1958. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a sustaining member of the Athens Junior League. For many years she was business manager of Gibson's Men's Wear. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, William Andrew Gibson of Athens, Margaret Elizabeth Gibson Vuillet of Paris, France, Mary Ellen Gibson of Atlanta, and Thomas J. Gibson of Jacksonville, Florida; and five grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 5th, at 11:00 a.m. Private interment services will be held at a later date in Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 4th from 6-8 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home, which has charge of arrangements.
