Mr. Ashmore was a son of the late Bennie and Angeline Glaze Ashmore. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She and her husband owned Swamp Guinea Restaurant of Hartwell and attended Abundant Life Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Oglesby was a daughter of the late Drew and Vesta Hall Cade and was the widow of William Sam Oglesby. She was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence Oglesby and Fred Oglesby. She was a housewife and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Elberton. A native of Broome County, N.Y., Mrs. Gardner was a daughter of Barbara Jean Ganoung Stoddard, Port Crane, N.Y., and the late Verald Stoddard. She was public relations director for WRAF Radio and TFC Radio Network. She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church and served on the Governor's Counsel for Education. She was president of Toccoa Falls Ladies Auxiliary for two years and past president of Big Shanty PTA, Kennesaw. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Alliance Church of Toccoa with the Rev. Ferrell Towns, Drs. Paul L. Alford and Harold Mangham officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Roselane Cemetery. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Emerick was the son of the late George Carlton and Martha Elizabeth Coffee Emerick. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Paratrooper in the US Army. He retired from the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department after 32 years of service, holding the rank of Captain. He was currently employed as a security officer with Belk's Department Store. He was a member of the Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 o'clock at the Bernstein Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Marsingill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Martha Huff Emerick, Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel (Danny) Jr. and Joling Chen Emerick, Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, James William Emerick and Susan Hope Emerick, both of Tallahassee, FL and a number of nieces and nephews. Members of the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers along with nephews.
