A native of Elbert County, Mr. Norman was a son of the late Jeptha George and Dora Bond Norman. He was a World War II navy veteran and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He attended Concord United Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hicks Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Concord United Methodist Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Martha Helen Webb Norman; two daughters, Peggy Pugh, Dalton, and Martha Moss, Elberton; two sons, David Norman and Vernon Norman, both of Elberton; two sisters, Mary Mullenix, Decatur, and Lib Adell, Macon; a brother, James Norman, Savannah; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A native of Dawson, Ga., in Terrell County, Mrs. Hubert was the widow of James Hiram Hubert Jr. of Athens. She was the daughter of J.D. and Emile Hill Bell of Dawson, Ga. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2000 at the First Baptist Church in Athens. Family visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Survivors include three sons, James Hiram Hubert III of Greensboro, Ga., Frank Claud Hubert of Bradenton, Fla., and David Hill Hubert of Atlanta, Ga.; and one sister, Leila Bell Rogers of Athens. She is also survived by four grandchildren, James Hiram Hubert IV, Melana Dawn Hubert, Brian Boyd Hubert and Matthew Robert Hubert; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hubert was a graduate of the University of Georgia and attended graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union and the Jenkins Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Athens, Ga., where she was a member for over sixty years.
