A native of La Grange, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Charles Walter and Mary Robinson Thompson Death, and was the widow of Charles Laster Smith. She was retired from the Central Intelligence Agency. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hightower Funeral Home, Bremen, with the Rev. Bill Tidwell officiating. Burial will be in Pineywoods Cemetery, Buchanan. Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Ham, Atlanta; two sons, Randolph C. Smith, Athens, and Ashley Smith, Atlanta; a sister, Betty Death, Milledgeville; and a grandchild. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 10:32 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2000 Dalmer Clawson Canon Dalmer Ray Clawson Sr., 68, of 2270 Starr's Bridge Road, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. A native of Big Cedar, Oak., Mr. Clawson was a son of the late Sterlin Randolph and Trudy Nichols Clawson. He was a 25-year U.S. Army veteran and both a mason and a shriner. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Eldon Massey officiating. Burial will be in Bowers Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a sister, Thelma Faye Dodson, Paris, Texas; two brothers, Dean Clawson and Billy Clawson, both of Tulsa, Oak.; five children; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Thomas was a daughter of the late William Morgan and Ellie Duncan Purcell, and was the widow of Hoke Thomas. She was a member of Hudson River Baptist Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Troy Herbert, Henry Webb and Ronnie Moon officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Lois Bridges and Mary Fricks, both of Commerce; two sons, Billy Dean Thomas, Gainesville, and Joe Thomas, Commerce; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
