He was a professor in the Zoology department at the University of Georgia. Dr. Coward taught Embryology, Cell Biology and Honor Sciences. He was a founder of SOTAB and a member of the National Audubon Society. He was an avid student and traveler of the world, its culture, cuisine and people. Dr. Coward is survived by his two children, Nina and Matthew, and many cherished friends everywhere. Mr. Gray established and managed Gray Brothers Laundry for a number of years and was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor. He was Past Master of Mt. Vernon Lodge and the 8th Masonic District and Past Worthy Patron of Athens Chapter 268 Order of Eastern Star. Mr. Gray was a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Atlanta and Athens Shrine Club #1. He was a Tall Cedar of Lebanon, KYCH (Knights of the York Cross of Honour) and Orator for 6th Degree of Scottish Rite. He was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church.
