A native of Taliaferro County, Mr. Manago was a son of the late Richard and Lena Manago, and was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Manago. He attended school in the Piney Grove School System and was a member of the Deacon Board and the Senior Choir at Brown Chapel Baptist Church. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Brown Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. R. L. Walton officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 12 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Alice B. Manago; a daughter, Ella M. Short, age 87, of 215 Holman Ave., Athens, Ga., died Feb. 5, 2000. A native of Commerce, he had lived in Athens for the past 82 years. He was the son of the late Jewell and Clara Pruitt Short. Mr. Short worked with the theaters in Athens in his early years and later worked 35 years with the Georgia Power Company, from which he was retired. He was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors, a long-time member of IBEW and was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church for more than 75 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Mathews Short; two brothers, Julius A. ''Jake'' Short and Carlton ''Tate'' Short; and a sister, Dorothy Short Deavours. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Poole Short; two sons and daughters-in-law, H.
