A native of Athens, Mrs. Tinker was a daughter of the late Fletcher Dalton Tuck and Clara Texas Holliday and was the widow of John Minton Tinker. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was past president of Statesboro's Woman's Club. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Daughters of the King. She was a member of St. Catherine's Guild at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Melbourne. A native of Tattnall County, Mr. Sikes was the widower of Quinelle McRae Sikes. He was a 1936 graduate of Brewton Parker College, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Georgia, his doctorate from Purdue University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. He was a research professor and veterinarian biologist at UGA and was the first Georgian to received the Royal Society Award. He was a consultant pathologist for the Atomic Energy Commission and was a member of Vidalia Presbyterian Church.
