She was preceded in death by two daughters, Frances Hulsey and Vivian Bryant, and a son, James Benjamin Wheeler. She was a housewife and was a member of Marietta Baptist Church. Marjorie M. Cotton, 71, of Washington, Ga., and Pensacola, Fla., passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2000. Ms. Cotton graduated from Brenau University and attended the University of Georgia. She taught music and reading in elementary and middle schools for 35 years. After retiring, she worked with the Census Bureau for several years. For the past six years, Marjorie has made Florida her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, O'Dell Herndon Mewborn and Helen Bunch Mewborn, Washington. She is survived by two daughters, Claire Cotton, Athens, and Cody Cotton Hicks, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one grandson, Timothy Michael Ridgway Jr., Gulf Breeze; one sister, Evelyn Wickersham, Tulsa, Okla., and two nieces, Julie Fleming, Tulsa, and Nancy Pritchett, San Diego, Calif.
