A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, Mr. Aycock was a son of Edna Cunningham Aycock, Lincolnton, and the late Barney A. Aycock Sr. He was a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church and was a 32 Degree Mason. He was past master of Lincolnton Lodge 354 and was past president of Lincoln County Cattleman's Association. He was a member of Homer Legg Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Lincoln County Athletic Booster Club. He was a charter member of Lincoln County Rescue Unit and was a former member of the Lincolnton City Fire Department. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lincolnton Baptist Church with the Rev. Mrs. Sheridan was born in Madison County, Ga., June 17, 1918, daughter of the late Van and Nellie Langford Brown. She was a retired bookkeeper with Williams Energies and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Sheridan was the last member of her immediate family. Her husband was the late Hoyt Augustus Sheridan. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Miriam Sheridan, Bowman, Ga.; a granddaughter, Mimi Sheridan, Bowman, Ga.; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Otho Brown; and four sisters, Quilla Brown, Stella Henley, Jessie Beville and Recie Black. OBITUARIES Story last updated at 7:39 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2000 Bill Churchill Crawford, GA William Bruce ''Bill'' Churchill Sr., 70, of Crawford, died June 7, 2000 at his home surrounded by his loved ones, under St. Mary's Hospice care. A native of Utica, N.Y., Mr. Churchill was the son of the late Neil Starr and Edna May Hamlin Churchill Sr. He was baptized and attended Stone Presbyterian Church in Clinton, NY and was a 1947 graduate of Clinton High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in October 1946 and was discharged September 1949 from the U.S. Air Force. In 1949 Mr. Churchill married Elizabeth Marie Settle, and they had nine children, thirty-two grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He later retired as a heating and air conditioning technician and was a member of The American Legion for 42 years, where he received many awards for his participation in the Boys State Program. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Saturday in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East. Rev. Bob Creviston will officiate and Kelli Dean will sing. Casey, former Governor of Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at the age of 68. Governor Casey was the son of the late Attorney Alphonsus L. Casey and Marie Cummings Casey. He was a graduate of Holy Cross College and George Washington University Law School. Governor Casey was an elected public official for twenty years, serving one term as State Senator, two terms as Auditor General and two terms as Governor of Pennsylvania. He also served, with former Pennsylvania Governor and United Nations Ambassador William W. Scranton and author James Michener, as Vice President of the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention. Governor Casey was a lifelong Democrat, and was the only prominent anti-abortion spokesperson in the national Democratic Party. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 3, 2000, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Peter Cathedral, Scranton. Interment was in the St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, Pennsylvania.
