A native of Habersham County, Clinton was a member of Carmi Baptist Church and was a junior at Habersham Central High School. A native of Macon County, N.C., Mr. Snyder was a son of the late Odell Ernest and Cora Ellen Phillips Snyder. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Snyder. He was retied from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a conductor. He was a 60-year member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, was a member and deacon of Level Grove Baptist Church, and was a member of the Men's Adult Sunday School Class #2. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Harold Sangster, Telford Tanksley, Terry Rice and Ronnie Thurmond officiating. Fincher Athens The Rev. Gordon Leo Fincher, 88, of Athens, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000. Rev. Fincher was born in Rome, Georgia. He was the son of the late Sanders and Johnny Leo Fincher. He ministered in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church until his retirement in 1978. He served churches in Blairsville, Young Harris, Clarkesville, Gainesville, Lexington, Fairmount, Statham, Sugar Valley, Jenkinsburg, Canon and Colbert-Temple. Rev. Fincher was a 50 year member of Cherokee Masonic Lodge in Rome, Ga. He was a member of Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC's) and the Colbert Lions Club. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2000, at 11:00 AM at Colbert United Methodist Church. Dr. Carolyn Morris and Dr. Thom Shores will officiate. Interment will be in Colbert Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Grace Jenkins Fincher, Lanier Gardens, Athens, Ga; children, Elizabeth Nevil-Dunlap of Athens, Diane Bell of Athens, Robert L. He had 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, William L. Fincher, and nine siblings. She was a native of Oconee County and Mars Hill community and Baptist church, and the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jerry M. Bond. She was a graduate of Bogart High School and Athens Business College. She was a secretary and also did work as a model. She is survived by a son, David Edwards of Atlanta; daughter, Kathy Swann of Tampa, FL; daughter-in-law, Cathy Edwards, of Atlanta; sister Evelyn Whitworth of Borger, TX; brother Ray Bond of Hoboken, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry H. Edwards, and brother Jerry M. Bond, Jr. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 11:00 am at Mars Hill Baptist Church with pastor Charles Jones officiating.
